Workin' in Marin

Worked a day shift for the Marin Independent-Journal which was a lot of fun. Had several different assignments to cover which included the Romberg Tiburon Center celebrating its 30th anniversary. The marine and estuarine research facilities has allowed scientists and students to conduct their research centering around the San Francisco Bay.

I also covered LAXapalooza '09, a large Novato Lacrosse Club free festival that attracts more than 400 players from all over Northern California. The festival offers games, training and clinics for Lacrosse players. This is the fourth year the event has occurred and Novato Lacrosse was founded in 1969.

San Jose Earthquakes v. New England Revolution

I went to photograph the opening game of the San Jose Earthquakes vs. the New England Revolution. Before the game the skies looked threatening and it might rain the whole game which required me to throw plastic over all my lenses and cameras. But besides a few light showers there wasn't much rain to contend with.

Overall it wasn't the greatest game, which is understandable since it was the first game of the seaosn. New England scored a goal against the play of the game and ended up with the positive result 1-0.

Urban Chateau for the National

I received an assignment for The National, a paper located out of the United Arab Emriates. They asked me to shoot an assignement for her newspaper for a weekly column called "Cult Shops" that looks at funky, unique locally owned shops that all around the world.

Urban Chateau, which is located in the SF Design Center, definately fits the bill and is a unique place which specializes in French antiques from the 18th and 19th century. The owner, Terry Gross, was great to work with for the photographs and it was amazing to view the beautiful items that were available in her shop.
